David Lloyd - Chigwell
The Mrs is interested in joining this place. Have read an awful lot of bad reviews and damnation of their membership practices. Also can't find prices - apparently they "tailor" them when you have a sales meeting.

Very nervous so interested if anyone has any experiences of the place and an idea of prices....

Gone downhill massively since refurb. Staff think they are the bollocks. I prefered the old days with REALGSA

David Lloyd Gidea Park is a front for a HUGE drug dealing operation (and not just steroids).

West Ham players use the Gidea Park David Lloyd.
Chigwell is the upper posh more expensive than the normal David Lloyd's.

It's a no from me ... They try to hook in families with tennis etc which would be good if it was a quarter of the price ?.. but try Virgin at Repton Park instead

There's a cheap council gym in Bermondsey that takes members with no fixed abode.

I've been a member of the Gidea Park one for 3 years now.
The Chigwell one has recently had a few mil thrown into it's refurb and it looking tip top.

I have the vantage membership, which used to mean I could go to any club in the country. Now they have extended this priviliage to all members.

My advice would be, go to Basildon or Southend David Lloyd, get a good membership deal there. That should be cheaper than Gidea Park/Chigwell, then you can use whatever club you fancy but at a slightly cheaper price.

Used to be a member of the one where we used to live, about 8 years ago.To cancel we had to give 3 month's notice and then after that they still took an extra payment.Did get it back when we complained.

used to be a member up until about 10 years ago when I switched to the Virgin Active.

Agree with the previous post about the car park in the evening. The gym and pool area is not as nice at the VA
